Since 2018, the first Petrof International Summer Festival gathers some of the most prominent artists and music teachers of the planet, who share their knowledge with students from all-over-the-world during two vibrant weeks of classes, concerts, cultural exchange and lifetime experiences.

Arrival day is July 6th and departure day is July 20th.

The academic program of the festival is open for pianists and string players of any age and nationality. Participants study under the guidance of exceptional artists, perform at master classes and at the festival concerts. Other activities include a fully guided tour of the Petrof Factory and Museum, as well as excursions around Hradec Kralove and the beautiful and historic city of Prague.

The academic program for each participant includes:

  • Five individual lessons on their major instrument
  • Three sessions of chamber music instruction
  • Participation at open master classes
  • Performance at the festival concerts
  • Excursions
  • Optional: participation at the Petrof Fest International Competition

Students who do not wish to participate in chamber music ensembles must indicate so in their application forms. Chamber music repertoire will be assigned according to the participants’ level and scores will be sent in advance so all players can come fully prepared to the festival. Pre-formed ensembles are also welcome.

Faculty, students and guest artists of the Petrof International Summer Festival will perform concerts in various venues. These are formal events, open to the public in general.

An international competition for the participants of the festival will take place at the beautiful Petrof Gallery. Winners will perform at special concerts in prestigious venues in Hradec Kralove and in Prague. Applicants who wish to take part must indicate so in their application form (competition fee: 100 EUR).
